I am delighted to say that both books in the Shaihen Heritage series - Cloak of Magic and Staff of Power - are now published by Authors On Line. Book 3 Spirit of Shehaios is well down the pipeline and will be out at the end of 2010 - also through Authors On Line.
I have finally parted company with Pegasus. My view of promoting and selling books was quite a long way away from theirs, which seemed firmly stuck in the 19th Century. The publishing world is changing, and I'm afraid publishers who cling resolutely to old-fashioned attitudes will not survive, so I really don't recommend unpublished authors to partner with Pegasus.The fact of the matter is that if you are a new/unknown author the onus is all on you to promote and sell your book, whoever publishes it, so get yourself a publishing partner who is going to help and support you.
I've been working on my Dad's memoirs, Are You An Artist Mister ? just published by Authors On Line. It's wonderful for the family to have this marvellous momento (Dad died in 2007), but it's also a fascinating bit of social history. Dad was fifteen the day World War II broke out, which gives him an unusual take on the dramatic events of 1939 - 1945. His unusual working life, and his accomplished and amusing writing style, make this something different to the other war memoirs there are around.
Frontline Authors continues to look for opportunities for talented authors to engage direct with our readers. I enjoyed meeting Carrie King , Paul Rix and Yvonne Hughes at Kent Festival of Wildlife - many thanks for supporting the event, folks.
